If you`re coming from US, Canada or Europe it`s CHEAP.

examples: a pack of cigarettes costs 2 pesos (1 U$D = 3 pesos), a hotdog is 1-2 pesos, a meal of raviolis at a restaurant is 7-10 pesos, a styling guy`s tshirt is 20pesos, a L of cerveza is 3 at a grocery store, 6ish at a resto, hostels run from 20-30 pesos a nite..

great city. busus run 24hrs a day. the subway system is retro (try linea A which was built in 1913 and still has the old trains operaiting), the elevators in buildings are fabulous (you have to manually open two sets of doors to enter and exit, quite old)

so much to see... Cementario Recoleta is where Evita Peron and many other influencial argentines rest. Puerto Madero is the newly renovated port which the pictuesque Porte de Mujeres (sp?). Lots of ferias (markets) to see. Go to Av.Florida for shopping (clothes, shoes, souvenirs) and you`ll probly see a few people dancing tango for money. Simply stunning.

I´m answering this question with the assumption you`ve never been to BsAs. my excuses if you already knew all of the above info!

Buenos Aires is a fantastic town; it's an amazing city that seems a bit like Europe, but with an edgy Latin American twist and if you wish to visit that town then have a look with hotelbye . El Puerto Madero is just a place properly visited. It served as the main dock of Buenos Aires throughout the late 19th century but know is converted into houses that could be used as residences, restaurants, shops and other firms and to give this challenge a little bit of sparkle, all streets in the section were named following women. Strolling through the Puerto Madero is a good way to pay a pleasant evening just like visiting El Obelisco. El Obelisco was built in 1936 to observe the 400th wedding of the city founding and now's a must-see place from Buenos Aires.

I stayed in Buenos Aires for 2 months, and I adored it.

The people are friendly. The food is great - especially the steak.

Since the devaluation, it is quite cheap now. I would recommend to stay in Palmero, as it is relaxing, and has great nightlife.

Great city. San Telmo, Recoleta, Plaza San Martin, Barrio Norte, Palermo Viejo are the best parts of an amazing town... oh, and Puerto Madero as well. Best wine, food, shopping, nightlife.... Truly an awesome place. Get there!! Enjoy!
